An interesting project, superimposing the skeleton on a dog, to see what is going on under the skin and hair. I do my best to fit a normal framework into the dog’s structure, but it’s getting harder and harder to do. I’m told this is a popular photo of a popular VA dog. He looks fairly typical of top winning German dogs.
This dog is pulling slightly into the lead, but a normal spine should not buckle under such minor pressure. In an normal dog, the spine stays straight to withstand the force and the pelvis tends to flatten slightly.
